We are quickly gaining momentum as we have partnered with Burleson Booking Agency and Embassy Music, both in Nashville, Tennessee as well as Indie Extreme from Houston Texas. Paul Turner
This month's artist showcase is Paul Turner from Barrie, Ontario.
A pastor of worship at Emmanuel Church in Barrie Ontario, Paul is married to Angela and together they have 3 children. Paul was born in Toronto and when he was young, moved to a little town call Elmvale about an hour north of Toronto. “Since a very young age I can remember being overwhelmed by God's majesty and music was the main outlet that I expressed my love for him. I can still remember sitting in my living room six years old an strumming along to Barry McGuire's Cosmic Cowboy tape.. “
Growing up, Paul was actively involved with music but hockey was his real passion. In 1992 his father had a heart attack at age 47 and it was only through the grace of God that his father was spared, but this tragic event sparked a revival in his heart. It was then that Paul decided to pursue God and music with earnest and he enrolled in college to pursue music. Paul has since achieved a Bachelor of Religious Education from Nashville Bible College and a Master of Arts in Religion from Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, Tennessee). He began his ministry as a Pastor and teacher in 1997.
In 2005 Paul recorded ‘Patterns of Mercy’, hisfirst solo album with Jeff Wardell of Blue Box Studios. The song, ‘Song of Praise’ rose to #2 on nation chart. Just released earlier this year ‘Greater than the Song’ is a great compilation of Paul’s thoughts on achieving intimacy with God. Produced by one of Canada's top worship producers, Phillip Janz, the album features a duet with Vineyard’s Brian Doerksen on the song, ‘Shepherd of Heaven’. Also featured on the project is musicians from around the world that contributed to the project including Martin Nolan from Ireland, James Isaacs from LA, Matt Weeks from London, and Brian Thiessen from BC. With guest vocals such as Brian D Phillip, Brenda Janz, and his wife Angela the project is a great listen and will inspire us all to worship our great and awesome Creator.
